Chaplain Renee McKenzie-Hayward was appointed to this position In Nov. 2011. She serves jointly as the Chaplain to Temple University and Vicar to the Church of the Advocate which is located on Temple’s campus at 18th and Diamond Streets. (churchoftheadvocate.org) Renee is a 2005 graduate of Temple’s Department of Religion when she received her M.A, and Ph.D.
Renee is an ordained Episcopal Priest in the Episcopal Diocese of PA where she serves as the chair of the Antiracism Commission. In addition to congregational and diocesan leadership, Renee has also taught at Temple University, Rutgers University, Lutheran Theological Seminary and Palmer Theological Seminary.
